Recollections of a Grand Old School

Body
Built in 1926, the three-story red brick school building located on South Ash Street in Archer City, Texas, stood for eighty-nine years before being torn down to make room for a new school. The memories of those who walked its halls haven’t faded, and local author Jim Black (Class of 1971) has gathered together some of those memories in his latest book titled Through These Halls. This special compilation of amusing and touching remembrances paints an endearing portrait of life in the historic old building whose presence touched the lives of generations in this small Texas town.

Standing Firm: Spiritual Protection and the Full Armor of God

Body
Grace and Peace to you in the name of our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ In every generation, the people of God have faced spiritual challenges that test their faith, character, and endurance. In my denomination, the new movement of the Global Methodist Church emphasizes a life of holiness, discipleship, and mission, and none of that can be sustained without intentional spiritual protection. The Apostle Paul’s teaching on the full armor of God in Ephesians 6:10–18 offers a timeless framework for believers who want to stand firm in a world filled with spiritual pressures.
