Body Archer City (11-4, 4-0) ran its winning streak to seven following a pair of 3-0 sweeps on the road against Prairie Valley (25-11, 25-23, 25-12) and Petrolia (25-12, 25-11, 29-27) in District 9-2A action.

Body Quanah quarterback Landin Leija combined for 490 yards of total offense and six touchdowns as the Indians scored 26 unanswered points to close out the game in a 38-20 win over Archer City on Friday, Oct. 2.

Body Missed opportunities haunted the fourth-ranked Windthorst Trojans (5-1) in their 14-0 loss at home to second-ranked Hamlin. The Trojans pushed the ball deep into Pied Pipers’ territory on five separate occasions but were held out of the endzone.

Body The 18th-ranked Holliday Lady Eagles (13-3, 6-0) could not have asked for a better start in its showdown between the last two unbeaten teams in District 7-3A .

Body The Archer City Lady Cats (9-4, 2-0) started off District 9-2A play on the right foot, sweeping Petrolia in a 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-13) decision on Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Archer City before topping Goldburg on the road in another sweep (25-8, 25-16, 25-20) on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Body The Trojanettes are on a winning streak. Windthorst (5-12, 1-0) posted its third-straight win in dominant fashion, sweeping Olney and only giving up 16 points in the match (25-10, 25-3, 25- 3) on Tuesday, Sept. 12, before sweeping Prairie Valley (25-18, 25-9, 25- 11) on Saturday.

Body The No. 4 Windthorst Trojans erased a halftime deficit and made enough stops in the second half to hold off City View in a 39-34 thriller on Friday, Sept. 25. The Trojans improve to 5-0 following the win and set up a colossal showdown with second-ranked Hamlin this week.
