USDA Reminds Livestock Producers of Available Drought Assistance

USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds drought-impacted producers that they may be eligible for financial assistance through the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) to cover above normal expenses for hauling water or feed to livestock or hauling livestock to forage or grazing acres.

97th DA requests new software

97th court district attorney Casey Hall presented a request for an increase in her budget to allow for access to new software during the Archer County Commissioners Court meeting on Monday, July 25. Hall said her chief investigator Chris Hamilton began looking into the software for cell phone downloads for investigation several months ago.

AgriLife Extension offers health literacy program for older adults

Archer County Extension Office will present “Health Literacy for Older Texans” beginning on August 1 at Archer Service Center. The program includes five sessions on making healthy lifestyle choices, understanding Medicare benefits, communicating well with your doctor, managing medications, and finding reliable information on the internet. Adults over age 65, family members and caregivers of older adults, and health care professionals are encouraged to attend.
