Why Forgive?

Body
Forgiveness or some form of it, be it Forgive, Forgiven, and Forgiving, appears in the NRSV Biblical narrative approximately 207 times. In the Old Testament teachings, God continually keeps God's covenant with us and is merciful and forgiving. God makes covenants with Noah, Moses, David, and the people of Israel. Throughout the Old Testament, when people break these covenants, God continues to be forgiving and stands ready to restore the relationship. God is 'merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness' (Exodus 34:6, NRSV) Then in the New Testament, Forgiveness is the pillar throughout Jesus's teaching. In Mark chapter 2, verses 1-12, we find the story of Jesus forgiving the sins of a paralytic and healing him, actions that incense some of the scribes when they see that Jesus has the power and authority to forgive sins.

Archer County Sheriff 's Report

Body
The Sheriff’s Office has received 173 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written, there are 28 inmates 2 being female in the Archer County Jail. Monday morning started out with a fire in the Archer County Jail. Around 7:15am one of the small dryers in the Jail laundry caught fire. Jail Captain Dale Richey being an Archer City VFD member quickly went into action and put the fire out within seconds. No damage was done to the building and only the dryer was damaged. The case appears to have been the motor on the dryer overheated and caught fire. After about an hour the smoke evacuation system in the jail had removed all smoke and smell from the building. Later on Monday Deputies and Holliday PD were called to a disturbance in Holliday. The caller stated that he had busted his dads lip. The caller stated that his dad was no longer there but he did want to file charges. Officers arrived on the scene and took a report of Assault Family Violence. This case is still open and being investigated by the Holliday Police Department.
