Archer County Commissioners make changes to jail inmate telephone contract

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court voted to make tablets available to the inmates in the Archer County Jail during its meeting Monday, Jan. 24.
Archer County COVID-19 update

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson reported Monday, Jan. 25, the county has seen 40 new COVID-19 cases in the last week. The county will be included in the GA-29 mandate unless there are less than 30 active cases in a twoweek period.

One dead, one injured in AT V wreck

An Idaho man died and a Wichita Falls woman was injured in a fatal ATV wreck Saturday, Jan. 16, on Kamay Road near Headquarters road.
ACMAC moving forward with Assessment Phase

Archer County Commissioners, after several presentations and offers, agreed to transfer the old jail building, grounds and artifacts to Archer County Museum & Arts Center, Inc., a 501c3 Non-Profit Corporation (ACMAC).

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson reported Tuesday, Jan. 19, that the county will remain included in the GA-29 mandate including a facial coverings which was issued by Governor Greg Abbott due to large positive COVID-19 case numbers in the county.
