Trojanettes' win streak continues

The Windthorst Trojanettes’ run of double-digit victories continued on Friday, April 11 as they dotted Olney to the tune of 14-2.

After going ahead 6-2 through four innings, the Trojanettes poured on five runs in the top of the fifth to blow open their run total to 11.

Catcher Catherine Hoff kicked off the runs with a gutsy home plate swipe, followed by an RBI-double from shortstop Karissa Fillingim to push their lead to 8-2. Fillingim was drove in just a few batters later thanks to a deep single by sophomore Heidi Tackett.

Windthorst muzzles Tigers in series shutout

The Trojans restricted Electra to just two total hits their district double-header on Tuesday, April 8, with freshman pitcher Aiden Stark even securing a seven- inning shutout no-hitter in the second game.

Lady Cats maul Electra

The Archer City Lady Cats didn’t hold back against the Electra Lady Tigers on Saturday, April 12, pouring on 14 hits and 19 runs to improve to 7-2 in ditrict. Despite surrendering four earned runs on four hits in the game Saturday, starting pitcher Addi Canada gave up most of the damage in the first inning, giving up just one hit and hitting one batter for the next three innings.

Windthorst track and field teams ace at Area meet

The Windthorst Trojans’ and Trojanettes’ track teams are sending a combined 13 individual athletes and three relays to Regionals following their outstanding performance at the Area Championships in Graham on Thursday, April 10.

Holliday track teams sweeps through Area meet

Both the Eagles’ and Lady Eagles’ track teams secured first place at the Area meet in Graham on Thursday, April 10. The girls’ team squashed their competition, totaling 141 points, more than doubling the second-place team score of 68 held by Jacksboro. The boys won first in similar fashion, putting up 134 points, beating out second- place Peaster.

Wildcats drum Cubs on diamond

Archer City put together a pair of blowout victories over Olney on Tuesday, April 8, and Friday, April 11. Along with scoring a season-high 17 runs on Tuesday, the Wildcats also recorded their first shutout of the season on Friday.

Stewart shines on Senior Night

The Holliday Eagles completed the series sweep over Vernon on Friday, April 11, building on their win over the Lions earlier in the week on Wednesday, April 9. After the Eagles gave up four runs and seven hits to Vernon in Game 1, senior pitcher Michael Stewart shutdown the visitors with a hitless, seven- inning, 16 strikeout performance to shut the Lions down on Senior Night.

Lady Eagles pile on the runs against Vernon

The Holliday Lady Eagles won by a combined 38-0 in their two games versus the Vernon Lady Lions on Tuesday, April 8 and Friday, April 11. Holliday allowed just three total hits over the series, while amassing over 30 hits as a squad.

Lady Cats claw back with walk off

The Archer City Lady Cats exacted some revenge on Tuesday, April 1 as they came back from a four-run deficit to overcome district rival Petrolia. After their heart-pounding victory on Tuesday, the Lady Cats decimated Olney 22-1 on Friday, April 4, and Seymour on Monday, April 7.
