When Kent Kyle and his Wildcat runners attend the Nocona Invitational on Aug. 26, he will have officially kicked off his third year at the helm of the Archer City High School cross country program.

The Archer City Wildcats return to the gridiron in 2026 under head coach Bradan Ritchey, intent on taking a major step forward. Despite a 1-9 campaign in 2025, Ritchey has set expectations early for his young Wildcats team.

Holliday Scrimmages Vernon

Through two sets on Tuesday, Aug. 18, the Lady Cats were down 2-0 with their backs against the wall in a contest against Wichita Christian School. The team battled hard in those sets but ultimately couldn’t find a way to seal the deal.

Trojanettes Versus Vernon

Volleyball season has begun in Archer County and this weekend saw all three teams participate in tournaments hosted in Abilene and Burkburnett on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15. Windthorst and Holliday competed in the 18th rendition of the annual Bev Ball Classic Tournament in Abilene.
