Trojanettes earn codi strict championship

The Windthorst Trojanettes are District 8-2A champions once again. On Tuesday, Oct. 29, after sweeping the Olney Lady Cubs 25-9, 25-8, and 25-10 at home, the Trojanettes took home the dis-trict title, sharing the honor with the Nocona Lady Indians. This marks the third year in a row the Trojanettes have captured the district championship.

Wildcats sink Pirate’s Senior Night

The Wildcat dynamic duo of senior quarterback Landon Smith and senior running back Noah Cornell combined for 365 rushing yards in Archer City’s 35-20 victory over the Petrolia Pirates on Friday, Nov. 1. Eagles trample Bearcats on Senior Night

The Holliday Eagles haven’t dropped a game to the Henrietta Bearcats since 2016, and on Friday, Nov. 1, that didn’t change. The Eagles, while on Senior Night, never trailed in their 56-7 marathon over the Henrietta on Friday at Don Lucy Field, scoring 38 points in the first half alone, while keeping the Bearcats scoreless in that same time frame.

Lady Eagles complete near-perfect district run

The Holliday Lady Eagles finished their district season with a perfect 12-0 record on Tuesday, Oct. 29 after sweeping the Jacksboro Tigerettes 3-0 at home on Holliday’s Senior Night. The Lady Eagles dropped just one set throughout the entire 12 matchups.

Eagles corral #7 City View

On Friday, Oct. 25, then unranked Holliday Eagles went toe-to-toe with the then #7 ranked City View Mustangs at Veterans Field. In front of a jam-packed crowd, the Eagles proceeded to dominate the highly touted Mustangs in almost every facet of the game, ultimately securing the 41-14 stomping.

Wildcats earn statement win over Electra

On Friday, Oct. 25, the Archer City Wildcats had a tall task to overcome, hosting the then undefeated Electra Tigers in district gridiron action. Coming into the matchup, the Tigers were averaging nearly 40 points a game, while only allowing around 13 points per game, and held a 3-0 record in district. That all changed after Friday night.

Trojans dominate battle with Indians

For their fourth district game of the season, the Trojans hosted the Haskell Indians at Trojan Field on Friday, Oct. 25. The Indians, coming off a victory a week prior and desperate to keep their playoff hopes alive, went up against a Trojan team eager to maintain perfection in district matchups this year.

Trojanettes beat Lady Cats

The Archer City Lady Cats and the Windthorst Trojanettes closed out their series against one another on Tuesday, Oct. 22, with the Big Blue crew handing the young Lady Cat the 3-0 sweep. Despite the result, the two teams battled closely throughout the sets.
