The Archer City Lady Cats hosted the Class 3A City View Lady Mustangs on Tuesday, Sept. 10. In a gripping five-set matchup, the Lady Mustangs outlasted the Lady Cats in the final set 15-6 to take home the road win.
The Trojanettes won in an efficient 3-1 match against the Class 3A Iowa Park Lady Hawks at home on Tuesday, Sept. 10. After jumping to a 2-0 lead thanks to 25-20 and 25-17 wins in sets one and two respectively, Windthorst closely dropped the third set 26-24, before claiming the victory with a heated 25-23 set four finale.
Archer City’s offense continued to flourish in their week three matchup against the Alvord Bulldogs on Friday, Sept. 13. Coming off a 50-28 defeat at the hands of Anson a week prior, a game that saw the Wildcats total nearly 400 rushing, Archer City topped that effort with 421 rushing yards on Friday night, leading to the 37-32 victory over the Bulldogs.
