Jackson elected chair of Nortex Regional Planning Commission

Judge Randy Jackson of Archer County has been elected as the Chair of Nortex Regional Planning Commission for the next year. The Executive Committee of Nortex Regional Planning Commission elected Judge Jackson at its regular monthly Board meeting in September to serve in this capacity for the Commission.

Cross Country Results

Cross Country runners for Archer City, Holliday, and Windthorst all competed in cross country meets this past week. On Wednesday, Sept. 18, all three teams raced in the Seymour Cross Country Invitational meet. The Trojans finished second in team score with 36 points after taking first, second, and third place in 5000-meter run, and came just one point behind Vernon’s team. The Trojanettes finished fifth in team score with 109 points. The Lady Eagle’s cross-country team narrowly bested the Trojanettes in team score, finishing with 94 points.

Wildcats maul Indians for homeccoming route

The Archer City Wildcats (2-1) surpassed 500 total yards in their 53-14 homecoming thrashing of the Nocona Indians (1-2) on Friday, Sept. 20, rushing for 401 yards and passing for 100. Their offense wasn’t the only side of the ball that was humming as the Wildcat defense allowed just 191 yards of offense.

Trojans’ shutout Alvord

Coming off a loss to the Muenster Hornets last week, the Windthorst Trojans (2-1) were focused on recalibrating in their matchup against the Alvord Bulldogs on Friday, Sept. 20. The team did just that as they scored the second most points of the season, 34, and completed their first shutout of the year.

On Homecoming Night at Don Lucy Field, the Holliday Eagles walloped the Class 4A Burkburnett Bulldogs 56-18, completely owning Burkburnett in all facets of the game on Friday, Sept. 20.
