Bremond runs wild over Trojans, 54 -21

Bremond quarterback Braylen Wortham accounted for 504 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns as the eighth-ranked Tigers ran all over Windthorst in a 54-21 loss by the Trojans at Aledo. Windthorst slips to 2-3 following the setback as it welcomes Petrolia to Trojanland on Friday, Oct. 7, for homecoming.

Just as Agamemnon once unleashed the great warrior Achilles onto the Trojans, Archer City head coach Bradan Ritchey released Elijah Jackson upon Seymour. Jackson accounted for 314 yards of total offense and accounted for four touchdowns in the win.

This Halloween holiday, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is teaming up with TexasA&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Watch UR BAC program to spread awareness on the fentanyl epidemic spreading across our state. The Drug Enforcement Administration warns the public of the alarming increase in the lethality and availability of fake prescription pills containing fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Revell places at State Fair

On Saturday, Oct. 1, Holliday 4-H member, Gatlynn Revell competed in the Agriculture Product ID Contest. She placed as the 8th High Individual Junior. There were over 150 competitors from across Texas. In the Ag Product ID contest, participants move through 20 stations, at the rate of 30 seconds per station. Each station has two multiple choice questions. The first question is always an identification question. The second question is always a fact about that product. The fact can be anything from growing season, to cooking method, to Texas national production ranking, to plant diseases. In the weeks to come youth from across Archer County compete in Livestock Judging and showing their market animals.
