The Lakeside City and Bowman Volunteer Fire Departments recently were awarded $20,000 as part of the Oncor Cares Foundation grant contribution. Oncor Area Manager, Gordon Drake recognized the two county Volunteer Fire Departments for all their dedication and hard work they do protecting the local community with a $20,000 grant from the Oncor Cares Foundation.

Basketball is underway in Archer County. All three high schools had basketball games. Holliday Lady Eagles, Archer City Lady Cats, and the Windthorst Trojanettes all opened their seasons on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
