After being held scoreless in the first half, senior Kyle Wolf put the Trojans on the board with an 80-yard kickoff return to open the second half and stake Windthorst a 6-0 lead.

Holliday Lady Eagles clinch district crown

The Holliday Lady Eagles secured the district’s top overall seed in the playoffs with a thrilling five-set win on the road over Nocona (21-25, 25-21, 25-19, 17-25, 19-17) on Friday, Oct. 16. Holliday (18-4, 10-1) owns the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Lady Indians after sweeping both meetings this season.

Archer City outlasts Windthorst to take over top spot in District 9-2A

As just about everyone expected, the District 9-2A clash between Archer City and Windthorst lived up to the hype. In a showdown of the district’s top two squads, the Lady Cats (15-4, 8-0) outlasted the Trojanettes (9- 13, 5-1) in a five-set thriller, 3-2 (25-23, 14-25, 21-25, 25- 17, 15-10) on Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Archer City.
