Holliday ISD's Andrew Draper, Maddie Reynolds, Kathryn Donoho and Colten Ellis won the 3A UIL state current events competition. Holliday ISD is now back to back to back state champions in the event. A trip to watch a game at D-Bat Field in Wichita Falls should be a time for younger siblings of players to enjoy being outside. An open pasture south of the ball field with high grass and weeds was both an interesting place for children to investigate and apparently a habitat for rattlesnakes.

Wichita Falls teen dies in Hwy. 79 wreck

A Wichita Falls teenager was pronounced dead on the scene at an early morning wreck Thursday, April 29, in Archer County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s preliminary crash investigation, Xavier Phoenix Ventura, 19, was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup northbound on Hwy.

Archer County districts' graduation plans

With the end of the school year approaching, the Archer County News collected the graduation plans for all three county high schools. Archer City High School: Archer City High School Principal John Sherrill said the district recently made the decision to move its graduation up from May 21 to 8 p.m.
