Workforce Solutions North Texas will be hosting a Job Fair Week, June 21 through June 25. The organization will be having industry specific sub events (see schedule below). The event will be open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 pm, with veteran’s preference from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Midwestern State University has named Holliday High School graduate Colten Ellis as one of its Redwine Presidential Scholars. He will receive $28,000 over four years of study at MSU Texas in Wichita Falls.

The Lakeside City city council discussed the possibility of leasing out land near the new city hall for a Cobalt Ridge internet tower to be placed. The city tabled action on the item to seek input from its residents.

Cy Belcher: Valedictorian Scholarship, A renewable Outstanding Freshman, renewable Top 10% and renewable Valedictorian Scholarship all from Midwestern State University, Bingo Kinder Scholarship, Remember the Vietnam War Scholarship, All Sports Booster Club, Top of Texas Football Scholarship, Michelle Berend Cannedy Memorial Scholarship, Monte Schenk Memorial Scholarship and Windthorst National Honors Society. Cy also received the Honor Award in English.

The public invited to attend the Memorial Day ceremonies hosted by the Scotland-Windthorst Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2676 and Auxiliary and the Gary Johnson Post 198 American Legion on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31.

One student from the Archer City area is among the 49 high school seniors across the nation who will each receive $16,000 college scholarships from the Phillips 66 Dependent Scholarship Program. The competitive program is open to outstanding college-bound students whose parents work for Phillips 66 and certain of its subsidiary companies.
