Junior Livestock Show board discusses show changes

The Archer County Junior Livestock Show will debut a new show schedule for its 2026 edition with 8 of the 14 events having their showtimes adjusted. ACJLS board president Jason Austin said the board was going through complaints of last year and is hoping some of those complaints can be addressed with these new adjustments.

Windthorst ISD to seek proposals for land exchange

The Windthorst ISD school board passed a resolution declaring the district’s real property behind the P.E. gym as surplus and delegating authority to the superintendent to advertise and receive offers for a property exchange during its meeting on Monday, Sept. 8.

Bridge replacement set for Hwy. 25

More road work is underway and set to begin in Archer County as the Texas Department of Transportation announced plans to start a bridge replacement on Highway 25. The bridge is being replaced at the Middle Fork of the Wichita River.

Archer City approves Contract with AMR
