The Archer County Junior Livestock Show will debut a new show schedule for its 2026 edition with 8 of the 14 events having their showtimes adjusted. ACJLS board president Jason Austin said the board was going through complaints of last year and is hoping some of those complaints can be addressed with these new adjustments.

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved the purchase of a new emergency alert system for county buildings during a special called meeting on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Nine Archer County nonprofit organizations raised $15,314 in the regional fundraising program Texoma Gives, which was Thursday, Sept. 4, with donations able to be given before the event.

More road work is underway and set to begin in Archer County as the Texas Department of Transportation announced plans to start a bridge replacement on Highway 25. The bridge is being replaced at the Middle Fork of the Wichita River.

The Archer City Council officially approved the contract with American Medical Response for ambulance service operations for portions of Archer County for the next fiscal year during its meeting on Thursday, Aug. 28.
