The Eagles’ coaching staff picked a helluva time for senior pitcher Grant Cox to make his debut on the bump. The Seward College pledge was brought into the game with Holliday (13-5) nursing a 4-2 lead on Iowa Park with two outs in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded.

The Holliday Lady Eagles collected two final wins on its dirt softball field last week, putting a bow on a special place for so many classes of Lady Eagles. “It makes you think about all the players and practices that have been played out here,” Holliday head coach Billy Arbogast said.

The Holliday-Jacksboro series the last few years has turned out some great contests. Tuesday night’s matchup was no exception.

Schreiber pitches second shutout of season Starting sophomore pitcher Conner Schreiber had a near-flawless performance on the mound on Monday, March 25 in a home district double-header versus the Olney Cubs. The titular ace bagged eight strikeouts in five innings, allowed no hits, no runs, and walked just a singular batter, grabbing his second and the team’s third win in district.

Lady Eagles outpace City View 17-6 Holliday rallied for nine runs in the top of the seventh to break open an 8-6 ballgame and cruise to a 17-6 victory over City View on Tues., March 19. Sammi Kirkland, Kinley Marek, Carly Duggins, Jordan Peters and Carli Wilson each led the Lady Eagles with three hits apiece while Peters and Wilson also drove in three RBI in the win.

Tuesday, March 19 Windthorst 11 Seymour 0 Sophomore Conner Schreiber tossed a sensational shutout against the Seymour Panthers on Tuesday, March 19, securing his and the Trojan’s first district win of the season. The lefty tossed a near perfect game, allowing just one hit, no runs, one walk, and nine strikeouts, also adding a hit and a run from the plate.

Trojanette ace Kamdyn Neal was tossing a no-hitter shutout before she was relieved in Windthorst’s home win versus the Perrin- Whitt Lady Pirates on Tuesday, March 19. Neal and the Trojanettes built a commanding lead by the start of the fourth, which allowed her and other starters to get some rest while other young Windthorst players on the roster gained much-needed in-game field and bat work.
