The Archer City Wildcats tallied their first runs in three games in their home district matchup versus the Olney Cubs on Friday, April 12. The Wildcats were previously shutout against the Cubs in their matchup just a few days later and looked to exact some revenge in front of their home crowd.

The Windthorst Trojanette track and field team continued to display their dominance on Thursday, April 11, this time at the Area Track Meet in Graham. Following a district meet that saw the Trojanettes send 12 individual athletes and all three relays to Area, those same athletes lived up to the occasion on Thursday, finishing second in team points with 76, while also sending 10 athletes, all three relays, and three Area Champions to the Regional track meet held in Springtown.

Coach Glenn Griffin has turned the Lady Eagles’ track and field program into a championship winning factory. Holliday won its fourthstraight District 7/8-3A Area Track Meet, more than doubling up second place Jacksboro 152 to 63.

Holliday christened its new baseball and softball complex with a sweep of Vernon on Friday, April 5. The Lady Eagles drubbed the Lady Lions 11-0 before the Eagles walked off the Lions on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch, 3-2.

It was an impressive district showing for the Eagles and Lady Eagles at the District 7-3A Track and Field Meet on Weds., April 3, with Holliday sweeping both boys and girls championships for the first time since 2013. While the girls success has been well documented, a renewed interest in the boys track program has fueled the Eagles’ to their first district title in over a decade, outpacing Vernon by 40.

Tuesday, April 2 Windthorst 4 Petrolia 0 Sophomore starting pitcher Conner Schreiber was awe-inspiring on the mound for the Trojans in their shutout victory over district opponent Petrolia. The ace pitched seven innings, allowed no earned or unearned runs, just two hits and one walk.

The fans that attended the double-header matchup between the Archer City Lady Cats and top-ranked Graford Lady Rabbits on Tuesday, April 2 witnessed a pair of thrilling contests as both games came down to a one-run difference, with one even going into extra innings.

The Trojanettes travelled to Olney to take on the Lady Cubs in district softball double-header on Tuesday, April 2. Windthorst looked to bounce back after their shutout loss to Archer City just a week prior, while Olney was desperate to snag their first district win of the season. The Trojanettes had other intentions.
