The Archer City Lady Cats saw their 2023 campaign come to a close in a pair of losses to Muenster on Thursday and Friday, April 27-28, in Era. The Lady Hornets won the opener 18-2 before finishing off the series 21-3.

Thurs., April 27 Windthorst 10, Anson 5 Windthorst (19-7-2) erased a 4-2 deficit with an eight-spot in the top of the fifth to grab the lead for good in a 10-5 win over Anson in a playoff tune-up game. Brayden Berend and Tanner Doyal each collected a pair of knocks for the Trojans to pace the offense while each added a double.

After winning the program’s first Region I-3A title a season ago, the Holliday Lady Eagles are on-top once again, winning the two-day track meet with 85 points at ACU on April 28-- 29. Holliday edged out second place Shallowater by 11 points and third place Bushland and Childress by 25 points.

Windthorst sends five to state track meet

It was a great day to be in blue at the Region II- 2A Track Meet on April 28-29 as Windthorst saw five advance to the 2023 UIL Track & Field State Meet. The Trojanettes finished the regional meet in fourth place with 46 points but was just 10 points off the lead as Era, Stamford and Hamilton all tied with 56 points.
