After two games and three quarter of limited offensive success with the spread, a fourth quarter shift to the I-formation allowed the Eagles to extend a 6-0 lead against Idalou to a 19-point shutout win in a 19-0 blanking of the Wildcats.

The Archer City Wildcats progressively stretched out a 21-0 lead before holding off a late push by the Tigers to escape with a 21-13 win on the road at Anson. Costly turnovers kept the Wildcats from pulling away but the Archer City defense rose up time and again to keep the Tigers at arms reach.
