Sometimes it’s more than a football game. When Archer City and Windthorst squared off on Friday night, football was the last thing on either communities’ mind after a Windthorst student was tragically killed in a car accident mere hours before kickoff.

The Archer City Lady Cats won a competitive five-set match at Olney on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Holliday’s stranglehold on Region I-3A continues. The Eagles and Lady Eagles punched their tickets to the UIL State Cross Country Meet on Thurs., Nov.

Holliday’s reign continues. After losing more than 10 seniors to graduation a season ago, few predicted the Lady Eagles to be in position to run the table in district action.

It was another one-sided affair between Holliday and S&S Consolidated with the Eagles rolling to a 62-0 win over the Rams on Fri., Oct. 20, at Don Lucy Field.

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, the Windthorst Cross Country team had a good showing at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.

Haskell held Archer City scoreless in a pair of first half red zone trips which proved to be the difference in a 34-33 win by the Indians on Fri., Oct. 13.

A pair of second half goal line stands by the Holliday defense allowed the Eagles to escape Henrietta with a 28-21 win over the rival Bearcats on Fri., Oct. 13.

Holliday and Windthorst both swept individual championships at its respective district cross country meets last week with the Eagles and Lady Eagles also winning the team crown on Mon., Oct. 9, in Holliday.
