The coronavirus pandemic dealt a near death blow to the Royal Theater. Having the theater dark for close to two years has created a financial strain since utility bills and maintenance of the building still continues. High School Principal Roy Longcrier was voted the 2021-2022 Windthorst Secondary Employee of the Year on Thursday, May 19. High school teacher Stacy Wolf presented Longcrier with the award during break in front of all of the secondary students and staff.

Holliday ISD showed off its completed addition and renovation to its band hall during an open house event Tuesday, May 17. The 10,614 square foot addition and renovation were paid out of the general fund and the school board did not take out any debt for the district to fund the project.
