The defendant, Stephen Joseph Parsons, alleged to have committed Murder, Felony 1, is currently in custody in the Archer County jail with Bond set at $1,000,000. Should a bonding company agree to post a bond for Parsons, his release will have some addi tional conditions to comply with.

Archer City High School recently released some information about its graduating class of 2022. According to a press release, 89% of students graduated were on the distinguished graduation plan with an endorsement.

Midwestern State University has named Archer City High School graduate Breden Hulse as one of its Redwine Presidential Scholars. He will receive $40,000 over four years of study at MSU Texas in Wichita Falls.

Archer City’s Karla Priebe went to the state shotgun competition and came home with second place in trap in the J.V. Division. Priebe is heading to National Junior Shotgun Competition June 16 in San Antonio.

Little did Iryna Hotsuliak, (Ira to her American friends) know when she came to Archer City High School as a foreign exchange student from the Ukraine that she would not be able to return home to her family.

The city of Windthorst is looking for a new city secretary after current secretary Debbie Schroeder told the council of her plans to retire from the position. Schroeder, who is born and raised in Windthorst, will hit her 35-year mark with the city in September and she felt it was time for her to leave the position.

Well June has arrived, and that means rodeo time in Archer County. The Archer County Rodeo Association will present the 76th Annual Archer County Rodeo and Ranch Rodeo June 16 through 18 at the Archer County Rodeo Arena.
