Archer City High School is pleased to announce the achievement of Level 1 certification in Marzano High Reliability Schools™. Level 1 certification means Archer City High School has created a “Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative Culture,” which is the foundation for every level that follows. Without such a culture, student achievement will be compromised. Day-to-day school operations are addressed and evaluated in Level 1.

On June 8, Gov. Greg Abbott signed HB 1522, officially designating Midwestern State University (MSU Texas) as a member institution of the Texas Tech University System (TTU System), effective Sept. 1, 2021. The bill was authored by state Rep. James Frank and sponsored by state Sen. Drew Springer.

The four-man team of cousins Sean Hoff and Patrick Schreiber, Matt “Stumpy” Schreiber and Dan Schreiber were able to successfully finish the 2021 Texas Water Safari but ran into some obstacles along the course.

For the first time in the district’s history, Archer City’s technology director will not be Bethann Oswald after she retired following the school year. Oswald is a native of Archer City, graduating in 1981.

The Holliday ISD School Board met for its scheduled meeting on Monday, June 14, at the administration building. Michelle Box of Zonda Education provided a demographics study for the board “We did see a tiny bit of a slowdown in historical enrollment this year,” Box said.

June 14, 2021 – The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is asking Texans to reduce electric use as much as possible today through Friday, June 18. A significant number of forced generation outages combined with potential record electric use for the month of June has resulted in tight grid conditions.
