A Mount Pleasant man died from his injuries sustained in an ATV wreck on Little Lease Road on Monday, June 7. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt.
The Archer County Commissioner’s Court discussed compliance issues with Trinity Wind Farm over its road use agreement with them during its meeting Monday, June 14. Precinct 2 Commissioner Darin Wolf led the discussion about the agreement made with the wind farm on maintaining Andrews Road.

The Royal Theater in Archer City recently announced the rest of its 2021 season, and it will feature a handful of familiar singers and entertainment shows through the end of the year. “We went all last year with really just one Texasville Opry, and then things shut down due to COVID-19,” board member Jerry Phillips said.
The Lakeside City Council voted to name interim City Administrator John Strenski as the full time City Administrator on Tuesday, June 1. Strenski was named interim administrator on April 1 after his predecessor, Eric Stephens, announced his resignation on March 28.
The Windthorst ISD school board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Lonnie Hise during a special called meeting Thursday, May 27. On the same day, Hise was named the lone finalist for the Haskell CISD superintendent position.
