Just like they’ve done all season long, the Holliday Eagles and Lady Eagles finished at the top of the medal stand following the District 7-3A Cross Country Championships on Monday, Oct. 10.

Second-ranked Holliday held Valley View to a meager 37-yards of total offense and four first downs in a 55-0 drubbing over the Eagles. Despite turning the ball over three times via fumble, Holliday managed its first shutout of the season and lowered its points allowed per game to 10.2 after the win.

Bremond quarterback Braylen Wortham accounted for 504 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns as the eighth-ranked Tigers ran all over Windthorst in a 54-21 loss by the Trojans at Aledo. Windthorst slips to 2-3 following the setback as it welcomes Petrolia to Trojanland on Friday, Oct. 7, for homecoming.

The Holliday defense allowed Snyder to cross midfield just three times in a 48-14 rout to round out the Eagles’ non-district slate. The second-ranked Eagles (5-0) limited the Tigers to a meager 223 yards of total offense in the win.

Windthorst survived a scare from its Archer County rivals before pulling away with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-12, 2519) sweep of Archer City on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
