The Windthorst Trojanettes had a tall task for their Bi-District round series on Thursday, April 23, and Saturday, April 25 in Bowie. Their reward for finishing second in District 9-2A and taking the second seed in the Division 2 bracket was the stateranked Muenster Lady Hornets.

Although the game had no playoff implications, the second clash between the Archer City Lady Cats and the Windthorst Trojanettes on Monday, April 13 was as tight and hard-fought as a rivalry game could be.

After finishing third last year, the Windthorst Trojans earned the 2A Area 9-10 Championship in Graham on Friday, April 17 with a team score of 126, their first of the 2020s. Three Trojans claimed Area championships in their respective races, while a total of eight individuals and two relays advance to the 2A-Region II Track and Field Championships in Springtown on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.

Going into their final district series of the season versus the Seymour Panthers, the Archer City Wildcats needed to win just one of those games to claim the top spot in the 2A-D2 playoffs. The Black and Gold did more as they followed a 9-4 win over the Panthers on Tuesday, April 14 with a 5-3 victory on Friday April 17 to complete the series sweep and head into the playoffs on a high note.

The Holliday Eagles are in crunch time when it comes to making the playoffs, and their two-game clash with the Bowie Jackrabbits showed they are not willing to go down without a fight. Wednesday, April 15 Bowie 5 Holliday 4 Despite scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Eagles couldn’t secure that tying run against Bowie, falling to the Jackrabbits by one.

It has been a banner year for the Windthorst Trojans this season. Not only did they win the district championships in football, basketball, cross-county, and track, but they also closed out district baseball a perfect 10-0 to claim the District 9-2A title.

The Holliday Lady Eagles’ quest to go undefeated in district as well as win the district championship came down to the final two games against the Bowie Lady Rabbits on Tuesday, April 14 and Friday, April 17.

The Holliday Lady Eagles and the Windthorst Trojanettes battled in an impromptu warmup game before playoffs on Monday, April 20. Both teams showed off their ability to batter softballs as they combined for 25 hits.

Both the Holliday Eagle and Lady Eagle track teams were the only squads to put up over 100 points at the 3A Area 7-8 Championships in Jacksboro on Thursday, April 16. The Lady Eagles amassed 153 points, 60 points ahead of the next-closest team.
