Archer City Track runs in Haskell

The Archer City Wildcat and Lady Cat track and field teams made their way down to Haskell on Thursday, March 19. Both teams had several quality showings in their respective events, including a bronze medal High Jump by freshman Lyla Nichols, while Jesse Rodriguez (400m) and Liam Shewmake (1600m/3200) both finished in the top-10 of their races.

Seward slashes Lady Cats in lopsided wins

The Holliday Lady Eagles scored a total of 40 runs in their two district games with the Henrietta Lady Cats on Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17. In addition, former Henrietta Lady Cat Kyra Seward pitched both games and was unstoppable. The junior collected 14 strikeouts and allowed just two hits in the two games.

Trojanette bats bully Electra, Olney

The Windthorst Trojanettes bounced back from their district loss to Petrolia on Monday with a pair of blowout wins over the Electra Lady Tigers on Friday, March 20, and the Olney Lady Cubs on Monday, March 23.

Lady Cats outrun Lady Panthers

Archer City became Home Run City on Friday, March 20 as three different Lady Cats mashed moonshots over the wall in the 18-0 district home win over the Seymour Lady Panthers. The first homer came from junior Addi Canada in the bottom of the first.

Wolf, Wildcats hunt Cubs

Archer City head baseball coach Michael Wolf and his Wildcats picked up a pair of solid district wins over the Olney Cubs on Tuesday, March 17 and Friday, March 20. After the Cubs managed to score two runs in Game 1, the Black and Gold restricted Olney to just two hits and no runs in Game 2 to secure the series sweep Tuesday, March 17

County Track Athletes Shine Over Spring Break

Over Spring Break, several athletes from the three high schools competed in track meets across the state. Archer City’s Jesse Rodriguez ran at the Pied Piper Relays in Hamlin, Windthorst’s Kyah Frank jumped at the Brad Legan Friends and Family Invitational in Springtown, and Holliday’s Kenli Atwood ran at the Bearcat Relays in Aledo.

Lady Cats Start 1-1 in District

The Archer City Lady Cats had split results to open district play this season. After a loss to the Petrolia Lady Pirates on Wednesday, March 11, Archer City bounced back with a 21-10 throttling over the Olney Lady Cubs on Monday, March 16.
