Body After Archer City fell to the Panthers in walk-off fashion on Wednesday, March 26, the Wildcats stormed back with a vengeance, defending their home field and battering Seymour to improve to 2-2 in district.

Body Both the Holliday Relays in Seymour on Thursday, March 27. The Trojans dominated their competition, compiling total 144 points and beating the next closest team (Anson) by 45 points.

Body In Holliday’s first district double-header action of the season, the Lady Eagles thrashed the City View Lady Mustangs by a combined 29-1 on Tuesday, March 25. Holliday 13 City View 0 In the first game of the double-header, the Lady Eagles posted 15 total hits in the win.

Body The fight for the top spot in District 9-2A was always going to be tough. With three of the top teams from last year returning a majority of their roster, it is no surprise that each game has come down to who made the right plays at the right time.

Body Archer County once again celebrated a successful year on the hardwood for the three high school teams. The Holliday Eagles made their way back to regionals, while the Trojans marked their first playoff win under head coach Dylan Stark.

Body The Holliday Eagles and the Henrietta Bearcats gave it their all in their district matchup on Tuesday, March 18 and Friday, March 21, culminating in a 1-1 series split.

Body After losing their first district game to Petrolia, the Archer City Lady Cats bounced back in a big way, winning their next three district games by a combined 62-8.

Body The Archer City Lady Cats’ and Wildcats’ track and field teams travelled to Haskell on Thursday, March 20 to run and throw in the Haskell Relays. Sophomore Makaylee McCown took home a silver medal in the high jump after she hit a height of 4-8.

Body 3 -1 After their 1-0 win over Seymour on Friday, March 14, the Trojanettes rattled off two more victories over district opponents last week to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Body After run-filled, backand- forth battle between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Cats, bitter rival Henrietta snatched victory out of Holliday’s hands with a walk-off three-run homer to seal the series sweep on Thursday, March 20.
