Holliday falls to #1 Coahoma

to #1 The Holliday Lady Eagles battled a rain delay and the top-ranked Coahoma Bulldogettes at the Hanner Sports Complex for the Area round of 3A softball playoffs on Friday, May 3 in Clyde. The Lady Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but after surrendering a grand slam in the third inning, undefeated Coahoma showed why they were state champs last year, piling on five more runs over the fourth and fifth innings to win comfortably 9-3.

The 2024 UIL State Track & Field championships are underway at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium in Austin.

Senior Simone Mouras opened the day with a sixth place finish in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:24.55 to give the Lady Eagles one point to kick off the meet.

District Champions Archer City Lady Cats trekked 48 miles east to Bowie High School to take on the Lindsay Lady Knights in Bi-District softball double-header action on Friday, April 26. The Lady Cats, fresh off a 13-2 romping over the Windthorst Trojanettes, faced off against a Lady Knights team that was on a three-game losing streak before making the playoffs.
