Sales tax revenue increases for four cities

Holliday, Lakeside City, Scotland and Windthorst saw increase in tax revenue in February 2026 than it had in February 2025. Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.5 billion in local sales tax allocations for February, 2.5 percent more than in February 2025.

Windthorst man dies in truck accident

My name is Kyle Morris. I’ve lived in Lakeside City for 8 years this coming April. This is my 5th year as a teacher, and my second year teaching at the high school here in Holliday. My wife, Jessica, works for Region 9 in Head Start. We have 2 boys James and Rylan. James graduated from Holliday this last school year and is currently at Midwestern State University, while Rylan is a freshman at Holliday.

Recol lections of a Grand Old School

The old red brick building that stood on South Ash Street in Archer City for eighty-nine years is gone, but the memories of those who attended school there haven’t faded. Local author Jim Black (Class of 1971) has gathered together some of those memories in his latest book titled Through These Halls.
