Both the Holliday Eagles and Lady Eagles traveled west to battle in the 2025 Eula Holiday Classic, a basketball tournament that brings teams from all across the state to compete in a three-day contest.

Both the Holliday Eagles and Lady Eagles competed in the 18th annual Wichita Falls Classic high school basketball tournament on Monday, Dec. 22. This year’s installment was hosted by Midwestern State University, and was played at D. L. Ligon Coliseum.

Tuesday, Dec. 16 Nocona 67 Archer City 4 Senior Serenity Jones and freshman Lyla Nichols accounted for the only two scores for the Lady Cats in their district loss to the 2AD2 defending state champions Nocona on Tuesday.

The 25-26 sports season was one of the most memorable ones to date. State championship, deep playoff runs, and games that will be remembered for many years to come.

Archer County had three teams and 22 total athletes compete at the UIL Cross Country State Championships this year. Seven of those runners finished in the top-20 in their respective races.

Tuesday, Dec. 9 Archer City 48 Bryson 20 The Lady Cats outscored the Cowgirls 34-9 in the first half to notch another win on the season.

It was a competitive season for the three Archer County high school football teams this season. It was expected to be a rebuild year for the Archer City Wildcats, and although they finished the season with a 1-9 record, the team that was filled with first-year starters and only several returning starters flashed their talents numerous times throughout the season.

Archer City High School hosted their annual Wildcat Classic Basketball tournament over the weekend. This three-day tournament features the boys’ and girls’ teams from different classifications all across the area as well as usually including all the boys’ and girls’ teams of Archer City, Windthorst, ad Holliday.

Archer County as a whole had one of the best volleyball seasons in recent memory. For the first time since the 2018-2019 season, all three schools advanced past the Area round of the playoffs.
