Holliday senior Kenli Atwood is looking to cap off her prolific high school running career with another trip to the state meet, which would mark her fourth straight in track and give her eight total trips to the state meet between track and cross-country.

Just like he was in cross-country this year, Windthorst star runner Kolton Rodgers will be a focal point in the Trojan’s success in track this year. The senior, who helped bring a state championship in cross-country this year, is ready to close the book on his tie at Windthorst with another spectacular season.

Holliday athletes Jordan and Arden Peters have gotten to do something in the sports world that siblings dream of, playing high school sports together. “We love playing sports with each other,” Jordan said.

Twin brothers Noah and Ryder Strohman are no strangers to success. Since his freshman year, Noah has dominated the 3A running landscape.

Twelve different Regional qualifiers will come back for another time around the track for Windthorst this spring. Both teams swept the district meet last season, and will be helped by a mixture of returners and newcomers to attempt the same feat again this season.

Winning begets winning, also known as the “Winner Effect,” is a sports concept that basically states initial success is usually followed by even more success. Long-time Windthorst head baseball coach Scott Belcher said that is one of the biggest strengths for the Trojan program as a whole.

Much like last year’s track season. The Archer City Wildcats and Lady Cats will focus on the simple mindset of competing and improving from meet to meet.

For the 25-26 season, the Archer City Wildcats will be led by someone that is extremely familiar with Archer City and the Wildcats’ baseball program as a whole. Head baseball coach Michael Wolf looks to bring a defensive brand of baseball to the Black and Gold.

The Holliday Eagles matched up with one of the most explosive offenses in the state for their Regional Semifinals playoff game on Tuesday, March 3. The Brownfield Cubs averaged nearly 70 points per game going into their duel with Holliday at Abeline Wiley High School.

Both the Archer City and Windthorst baseball teams participated in the annual Rooster Classic baseball tournament on Thursday, March 5 to Saturday, March 7. The Trojans finished the tournament 3-3, while the Wildcats went 0-3.
