Eagles Go Undefeated, Wildcats Battle at ACS Tournament

Both the Archer City Wildcats and the Holliday Eagles competed in the annual American Cancer Society baseball tournament from Feb. 26 to Feb. 28. Facing off with contenders from all over the area, the Eagles went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend, while the Wildcats went 1-4.

Eagles bully Bobcats in Area win

For the third season in a row, the Holliday Eagles advanced to the Regional round of the playoffs following a blowout win in the Area round. In this year’s installment, Holliday dispatched the Comfort Bobcats 70-50 on Friday, Feb. 27 in Comanche.

Luke leads Eagles over Roos in Bi-District

Trojanettes ousted by #6 Lipan in Area

The Windthorst Trojanettes’ basketball season came to an end in Breckenridge as they faced off with perennial powerhouse Lipan in the 2A-D2 Area round on Thursday, Feb. 19 Coming into the game, Lipan was 30-5, hadn’t dropped a contest since Dec. 30 and were ranked in the top-10 by both the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and the Texas Girls Coaches Association. It was going to be an uphill battle from the beginning for Windthorst head coach Heather Stark and her young squad.
