Trio advances to regional golf tournament

Archer County golfers took to the links this past week with a trio of competitors advancing to the regional meet. On the girls side, Holliday’s Makayla Smith was the District 7-3A champion at River Creek Golf Course in Burkburnett on Wednesday, March 30.

Friday, April 1 Archer City 14, Olney 7 Archer City (7-6) scored seven runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to erase an early 7-0 hole in a 14-7 win over Olney. Hudson Williams powered the Wildcats with a 2-for-5 effort at the plate with a homer, double two RBI and two runs scored.

Wednesday, March 30 Archer City 10, Petrolia 9 Archer City (10-6) erased an 8-1 deficit in the fifth inning to walk-off Petrolia in a 10-9 affair. The Lady Cats sit in the driver’s seat of District 9-2A after completing the first half of district play undefeated.
