Windthorst girls enter this week’s district championship fresh off a win at the Wildcat Relays on Thursday, March 31. The Trojanettes won the meet, beating Archer City by 69.5 points to take gold while the Lady Cats earned silver with 127.5.

Archer County golfers took to the links this past week with a trio of competitors advancing to the regional meet. On the girls side, Holliday’s Makayla Smith was the District 7-3A champion at River Creek Golf Course in Burkburnett on Wednesday, March 30.

Holliday saw two individuals and two doubles tandems win the District 7-3A tennis tournament on March 28-29 at Bowie. In addition to the four district champions, the Eagles are sending three more doubles teams to regionals.

Friday, April 1 Archer City 14, Olney 7 Archer City (7-6) scored seven runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to erase an early 7-0 hole in a 14-7 win over Olney. Hudson Williams powered the Wildcats with a 2-for-5 effort at the plate with a homer, double two RBI and two runs scored.

Wednesday, March 30 Archer City 10, Petrolia 9 Archer City (10-6) erased an 8-1 deficit in the fifth inning to walk-off Petrolia in a 10-9 affair. The Lady Cats sit in the driver’s seat of District 9-2A after completing the first half of district play undefeated.
