The 41st annual Dairy Derby 5k, Health Walk and Fun Run Children’s Races were held Sunday, June 6, at the Windthorst ISD football field and track with Coltyn Hale winning the 5k with a time of 20:45.

Historic season comes to an end in state semifinals

As the famous saying goes, ‘all good things must come to an end.’

The Lady Eagles’ historic postseason run, which included the team’s first trip to the UIL State Softball Tournament in Austin, ended in the state semifinals. Holliday fell to Diboll 9-3 on Wednesday, June 2, at Red and Charline McCombs Field.

Archer City ISD accepts donation for new football jerseys and helmets

Intrigue ensued within the discussion to accept the donation of funds to purchase football helmets and jerseys for players, during the Archer City ISD school board meeting on May 24. “From Trojan Medical Supply Corporation there is a check for $16,626 and it is for 44 new football helmets and will cover partial cost for jerseys as well,” Superintendent, C.D.

For the first time in program history, the Holliday Lady Eagles are headed to the state tournament.

Needing to win two games on Saturday to keep the season alive, Holliday showed up when it mattered most, taking down Jacksboro 10-3 and 4-0 to win the 3A Region I Final in Graham on Saturday, May 29.

Belcher, Wolf pitch Trojans past Muenster

Cy Belcher and Kyle Wolf were nearly untouchable in both starts against Muenster, holding the sixth-ranked Hornets scoreless in a pair of 1-0 wins to allow Windthorst (24-12-1) to advance to the regional semifinals.

Trojanettes magical run comes to an end

Windthorst saw its magical run through the postseason come to an end on Thursday, May 20, following a pair of 6-0 losses in its regional semifinal matchup against Crawford. The future for the program is extremely bright as the Trojanettes (19-18) return everyone from a roster loaded with freshmen and sophomore talent.

Lady Eagles make history, clobber Lamesa

The Holliday Lady Eagles (36-1) made school history, downing Lamesa 9-3 and 27-4, to advance to the regional finals for the first time where a familiar foe awaits. “It feels like it’s time (for the program to make its first trip to the regional finals),” senior catcher Taylor Gillit said.
