Trojanettes magical run comes to an end

Windthorst saw its magical run through the postseason come to an end on Thursday, May 20, following a pair of 6-0 losses in its regional semifinal matchup against Crawford. The future for the program is extremely bright as the Trojanettes (19-18) return everyone from a roster loaded with freshmen and sophomore talent.

Lady Eagles make history, clobber Lamesa

The Holliday Lady Eagles (36-1) made school history, downing Lamesa 9-3 and 27-4, to advance to the regional finals for the first time where a familiar foe awaits. “It feels like it’s time (for the program to make its first trip to the regional finals),” senior catcher Taylor Gillit said.

Holliday (34-1) punched its ticket to the regional semifinals for the first time since 2005 after sweeping Brock, 3-1 and 8-1, in the regional quarterfinal round last weekend in Graham. The Lady Eagles, winners of 22-straight games, meet Lamesa (20-5) on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22 on the campus of Abilene Christian.
