Four pick up TSWA 3A All-State nods

Not to be outdone by its cross-county rivals, Holliday saw four individuals earn a spot on the Class 3A Texas Sports Writer’s Association All-State team, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Connor Cox was the lone first-team representative for the Eagles while Dalton Anderson, Keegan Hutchins and Peyton Marchand earned honorable mention honors. The quartet helped the Eagles to a district championship along with a 29-5 record.

In a county rich with baseball talent, it should come as no surprise that Archer County was well-represented on the Class 2A Texas Sports Writers Association All-State squad as five individuals picked up all-state honors.

Glo-Ball tournament raises funds for AC Cheerleaders

The unidentified flying objects over the Archer City Country Club last Saturday night were discovered to be glowing golf balls. After nine holes of conventional tournament golf before dark, players were treated to a meal before venturing out for nine holes in the dark.

Neal hits his mark as state champion

Holliday rising eighth grader Kreede Neal notched a state championship in archery at the 2021 Texas 4-H Shooting Sports State Games in San Antonio last weekend. After coming in second in 2018 and 2019, the 13-year-old finally achieved his goal, breaking through for his first state title.
