After winning their first postseason game in over two decades, the Holliday Lady Eagles ventured into uncharted territories in the area round game against Jim Ned. Unfortunately, the weather that plagued the state of Texas also limited the Lady Eagles’ practice time leading up to the contest against the Lady Indians.

10 earn recognition on TSWA all-state team

Archer County saw 10 players earn recognition on the Texas Sportswriters Association Class 2A All-State team. The state champion Windthorst Trojans placed five on the squad while Archer City saw four players pick up accolades. Trojans head coach Chris Tackett shared Coach of the Year honors with Shiner’s Daniel Boedeker.

Maxwell named MVP as District 9-2A announces honors

Archer City’s Mallory Maxwell was named the District 9-2A MVP while the Lady Cats’ Bailey Grant and Maddie Lopez were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively. Maxwell led the Lady Cats to an outright district championship.
