Tuesday, March 23 Archer City 14, Olney 4 Archer City rallied for 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth to blow open a 4-4 tie into a 14-4 victory over Olney. Ty Bates (1-1) tossed 6.0 strong innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits and six walks while punching out 10.

AC, Holliday sweep tennis tournament

The Archer City and Holliday tennis squads made a clean sweep of singles and doubles at the Henrietta Tournament at Hamilton Park in Wichita Falls on Wednesday, March 24. Holliday’s Belle Welch swept girl’s singles while Archer City’s Cade Strickland and Holliday’s Ricky Murray finished first and second, respectively, on the boy’s singles side.

Monday, March 15 Windthorst 15, Olney 0 The Trojanettes pounded out 17 hits and plated 11 runs in the home half of the first in a 15-0 rout of Olney. Bree Kirk (3 R, 2 RBI) and Camryn Latham (2 R, 3 RBI) each went 4-for-4, combining for three doubles.

Archer City traveled to Seymour on Thursday, March 18, for the Seymour Run and Gun. The Wildcats finished second behind the Panthers, falling short of the title by four points. The Lady Cats finished fourth behind Stamford (211), Seymour (129) and Throckmorton (122).

Tuesday, March 16 Bowie 7, Holliday 6 Bowie rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to upset the eighthranked Eagles, 7-6. Holliday surrendered a bases-loaded, one-out single in the final frame to suffer their first district loss of the year.

Belcher inducted into Howard Payne's sports Hall of Fame

Current Jacksboro head baseball coach and Holliday High School alumnus Blake Belcher is being inducted into the Howard Payne Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 15. Belcher, a class of 1994 graduate from Holliday, is the brother of Windthorst head baseball coach Scott Belcher.
