The Holliday Lady Eagles’ cross country team picked up a pair of wins, taking first at the Lubbock ISD Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 25, with 59 points and winning the Decatur Reunion Run on Saturday, Oct. 2, with 32 points.
The 7th grade Spartans moved to 2-1 on the season after a 38-20 loss to City View on Tuesday, September 21. Brock Belcher led the Spartans offensively, rushing for three touchdowns including a 95-yard scamper. Brayden Messineo converted one 2-point conversion from a Belcher pass. Defensive Standouts were Landyn Hale, Riley Hoffman, and Jackson Zicarelli. The Spartans will play Hamlin at home next Thursday, Sept. 30.
Holliday (23-5, 1-0) rolled to its fourth-straight victory on Friday, Sept. 10, sweeping District 7-3A rival Henrietta 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-16) to open league action.
