Body The University of Texas inducted Windthorst legend Heather Stark into its Hall of Honor this past Saturday. Formerly Heather Schreiber, Stark helped turn girls athletics into the powerhouse it is today for the Trojanettes.

Body Archer City took command of the District 9-2A race behind a 3-1 (25-16, 18-25, 25-22, 25-16) victory on the road Saturday at arch-rival Windthorst. The Lady Cats (24-11, 8-0) snapped the Trojanettes’ (24-11, 7-1) nine-game winning streak by winning their eighth-straight.

Body Archer City (23-11, 7-0) wasn’t caught looking ahead to Saturday afternoon’s showdown as the Lady Cats hammered Petrolia, 25-13, 25-13, 25-6, for the 3-0 sweep.

Body The Archer City Lady Cats’ cross country team of Kassidy Marin, Rebecca Taggart, Kaydyn Ritchie, Malia Jones, Landri Payne and Jenny Smith won the District 9-2A championship on Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Seymour. Archer City edged out Olney 57-50 to bring home the district crown.
