Body A first half scare turned into a 22-point rout as fourth-ranked Holliday overcame a slow start to knock off Breckenridge (1- 4), 34-12, on the Eagles’ homecoming on Friday, Sept. 24. Holliday enters the bye week 5-0 before heading into district play.

Body Second-ranked Windthorst (5-0) raced out to a 28-0 lead in the first half and never looked back in a 34-0 shutout of City View (2- 3) on Thursday, Sept. 23.

Body Brock “Big Juicy” Belcher ran for three touchdowns in the 7th grade Spartans’ 18-12 victory over the Seymour Panthers. Defensive standouts were Adam Barton and Jackson Ziccarelli. The Spartans are now 2-0 and play City View this week on the road.

Body The Holliday Lady Eagles’ cross country team continues to impress, this week taking eight of the top nine finishes at their home invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18.

Body The Archer City Lady Cats (16-11) closed out their pre-district slate with a hard-fought, five-set loss on the road to Burkburnett (26-24, 18-25, 9-25, 25-19, 15-11) on Friday, Sept. 17.

Body Holliday (25-5, 3-0) made quick work of Jacksboro and City View in the second week of District 7-3A play. The Lady Eagles ran their winning streak to six following Friday night’s win over the Lady Mustangs. In those six matches, Holliday has won 18-straight sets.

Body Windthorst (17-10) cruised to an easy 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-14) win at Hirschi on Tuesday, Sept. 14, to wrap up the Trojanettes’ pre-district slate.

Body In what felt like a classic boxing match, No. 4 Holliday (4-0) went on the road for a gritty 27-14 victory against Bells.

Body Second-ranked Windthorst (4-0) used a 27-point second quarter to pull away from Seymour (1-3) in a 60-20 homecoming win on Friday, Sept. 17.
