Archer City was unable to mount one final rally to keep its season alive, falling to Muenster in a doubleheader sweep on Thursday, May 19, in Henrietta. The Hornets took the opener 22-5 before holding on for a 10-6 win in game two to earn a berth in the regional semifinals.

Holliday holds off Lamesa, moves on to regional finals

Holliday is headed back to the regional finals after fending off a scrappy Lamesa squad, 4-2 and 7-3, in the regional semifinals on Wednesday and Thursday last week at Abilene Christian University. The Lady Eagles (32-2) move on to meet Coahoma (30-4-1) at Abilene Christian with a trip to Austin on the line.

Top-ranked Brock eliminates Holliday

Holliday saw its playoff run come to an end in the regional quarterfinals, falling in a pair of mercy-rule decisions to top-ranked Brock, 10-0 and 13-1. The Eagles (30-6) eclipsed the 30-win plateau before bowing out to their postseason nemesis.
